Non so chi di voi se la ricorda, ma penso siate in pochi. Una Harley che si è vista sul mercato per pochissimo tempo e che è passata senza lasciare molto il segno, per vari motivi ma che nel suo genere ha un fascino particolare.
Negli anni 70 diverse case motociclistiche facevano modelli cross che gareggiavano a vari livelli, così dopo alcuni anni di prove e attese nel 1977, finalmente, Harley annuncia la produzione della nuova MX250, assemblata da Aermacchi sulla base dei motori utilizzati sulle SX, le urban scrambler a due tempi della Casa americana.
Era il periodo di collaborazione con la casa italiana, per cui su questo modello si trovava un’interessante telaio realizzato in Italia così come altri pezzi, serbatoio arancio forte tenuto saldo da un cinghia in cuoio su cui troneggia la stessa grafica della versione stradale con la scritta 250 a tutto campo a sottolineare che almeno in questo caso Harley aveva intuito le potenzialità di marketing dell’operazione. Piace esteticamente, un po meno a livello competitivo in quanto difficile da guidare ad alti livelli e comunque pesante per le gare, però è sicuramente curata in molti dettagli come le plastiche marchiate Harley-Davidson, il serbatoio perfetto, le leve della Tommaselli e i cerchi Akront, tutta roba di prima scelta.
